Welcome to the 10 Part Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Master Class. In this session we introduce you to the Master Class content including how to identify areas of project and programme management pain, what is ppm and how is it defined, how to organise your business for PPM, how to build a successful PPM framework and how to kick start the Project Portfolio Management process in your business.

In Part 1 we provide an overview of how project management and professional services automation solutions have evolved into today's Project Portfolio Management tools. We look at how organisations can measure the success of projects and how the role of the project management process impacts business. Finally we analyse some of the common inefficiencies in business today and the main challenges facing successful project delivery.

In the 2nd Part of our PPM Master Class series we explore the fundamentals of project portfolio management, exploring whats new about PPM, how it will empower the business, how we can define PPM and how it can be used to support the project delivery process.

In the continuation of Part 2 of our PPM Master Class Series we focus on the relationships between portfolio's, programmes, and projects, how Project portfolio management integrates into the business, the goals of ppm, the consequences of not implementing ppm, barriers to adoption, key challenges and best practice considerations.

In Part 3 of the PPM Master Class we examine how to organise the organisation in readiness for PPM. In this session we look at the people, processes and tools required for PPM, the hierarchy of project relationships, how to gain executive sponsorship and how the PPMT, PMO and project relationships impact the success of project portfolio management.

In the continuation of Part 3 of our PPM Master Class series we look at key challenges facing business such as understanding the business capability to deliver projects, understanding resource capability and implementing project governance.

In this continuation of the third part of our PPM Master Class Series we look at the PPM infrastructure issues and inhibitors to gaining real time information. We then explore the benefits associated with real time information, role based visibility, centralised data control and a web based environment.

In our final instalment of Par 3 of the Project Portfolio Management Master Class we explore how PPM Software tools enable organisations to implement a project portfolio management process, we explore a breakdown of the functionality of these tools and how they enable organisations to achieve a solid ppm framework.

Part 4 of the Project Portfolio Management Master Class focuses on how to build the PPM Framework. Topics include component areas of the PPM Framework, Portfolio Definition, Strategy, Alignment and Portfolio selection, Prioritisation and Authorisation.
