Business trends 'may require timesheet software'

The problems currently facing the market are influencing a lot of major restructuring at large companies around the UK, highlighting the need to keep on top of time management.

A four-day week is currently facing workers at Jaguar Land Rover, with timesheet software perhaps making the management of the timetable shift much easier for employees at the company, which is also freezing pay to workers.

It was argued by chief executive officer at Jaguar Land Rover David Smith that short-term drawbacks are better through effective management of operational aspects of business such as time and costs than by making across-the-board cuts in workforce.

Commenting on the recent restructuring, GMB union organiser Bert Hill said: "The choice for our members was clear - further mass redundancies or what is undoubtedly some short-term pain in order to secure the future for our members and their families."

Last week, the Complete Lawyer also suggested that time tracking is something firms should focus on during the recession.
