Need to balance work is 'greater than ever'

A charity has highlighted the importance of good time management after reporting on the amount of people it has been in contact with over workplace disputes.

Working Families, which aims to help people balance work and family life, has found there to be a sharp rise in the amount of cases of people unable to cope in the current economic climate without flexible working, highlighting the importance of good time tracking in the office.

Two weeks before the extension of the right to request flexible working by the government, the charity announced it had helped 6,000 people - only limited due to the inability to take all calls after a sharp rise in demand over the last year.

Changes may help people consider better small business management software, such as timesheet and expense management.

Working Families chief executive Sarah Jackson said: "It is vital that the concerns of working parents are heard during the economic downturn."

This week, Management Today highlighted the beneficial factors of flexible working posts, noting it down as a great way to save money and not axe people from the payroll completely.
