Management 'should use resource scheduling software' for goal-setting

If a company aims to capitalise on the current market and be more flexible with its employees, it should change the structure of its review system and implement resource scheduling software, it has been noted.

According to Federal Computer Week's Mary Mosquera, the use of employee scheduling software can help a manager keep track of individual goals and not have to wait for the yearly review system to show results.

The traditional annual review meeting between a boss and their employee should be replaced with a newer system where there is a constant dialogue between managers and workers, as the previous system is a process "ingrained yet sometimes uncomfortable" in modern-day business.

Ms Mosquera said this method, when backed up with resource scheduling software, allows a company to get a clear look at a worker's progress and can enhance the strength of the company overall.

Chief executive of Work Wise UK Phil Flaxton said this month that managers can get a better hold on their employees through such constant communication.
