Project management software for Tesco

Britain's leading supermarket chain Tesco has stated that it is now using project management software in the form of customer relationship management (CRM).

The corporation hopes its investment will enhance the responses and customer service that Tesco Digital, its electronics sub-company, delivers to users, with call centre workers being equipped with the technology to respond to problems and enquiries which can occur.

Tesco decided to base its venture on the improved ability to log customer interactions such as phone calls and emails, gathering the information relevant to the personal preferences of each individual consumer in order to relate to them and develop a relationship on trust and responsive service.

It is stated that the CRM technology will be brought out over 2009, with Tesco aiming to make its customer experience as consistent and highly-rated as possible.

It follows an announcement by Tesco of its first purpose-built centre for distribution in Teesport near Middlesbrough, creating 800 jobs in the north-east.
