Resource scheduling is 'essential for self-managed IT'

People who want to automate their systems more in the long-term may want to consider using resource scheduling software to streamline their workplace, it has been stated.

According to Dave Malcolm of SOA World Magazine, IT teams can only work truly efficiently in cloud computing by using a self-managing software platform.

He said that mechanisms for scheduling and reserving resource capacity are particularly important in the current climate, with tools and policies to control access to these resources being particularly useful in business to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Furthermore, companies must consider controls to configure, manage and report changes to resources in order for employees to keep well-informed of adjustments.

With the correct balance of control and delegation, Mr Malcolm states that administrative efforts will be massively cut down on, meaning a more cost-effective solution needs to be used in the workplace.

This week, Hostway stated that servers are the future of business, with things such as resource scheduling being high on the agenda for many companies hoping to take advantage of money savings which can be had by storing major systems online.
