Outsourcing 'increases reach of IT departments'

A large number of chief experience officers (CXOs) are outsourcing software in order to improve the facilities which their company can provide globally, according to an industry professional.

Speaking to TMCnet, Ewan Macaulay of the IQ Business Group stated that IT systems and small business software are fast becoming the deal-breaker for many companies, as it is able to create a wider platform for its products and services through such a scheme.

He said that in order to determine how necessary their investment is in such things as project management software, organisations are ensuring that money is put into technology which is highly specialised in its approach, ensuring that any money spent is wholly relevant to the growth of the company.

Outsourcing is, of course, another way in which firms are reducing their marketing and IT spending, Mr Macaulay added, given the lack of necessity of having an in-house server plus a maintenance team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Gartner recently revealed that outsourcing is a trend that will continue to grow, noting that internet connections are getting much better, allowing everyone to access such technology with greater ease.
