Cloud computing has 'matured well'
Business management software and project management through outsourcing have matured to a great degree in recent times, according to a new report.
Reuters stated that software-as-a-service (SaaS) allows companies to use many more top-of-the-range services for a much smaller cost than it would be should they hold it in-house.
Analyst with IT evaluation company Nucleus Research Rebecca Wetteman told the news agency that such strategies have both low risk and cost, meaning that bosses are happier to use web-based solutions as it can be easily untangled from existing computers should things go awry.
Cloud-based software sales in 2009 are expected to reach a record high of $8 billion (£5.3 billion), with Gartner researcher Sharon Mertz stating that outsourced business management software is still a solid investment despite the downturn.
EquaTerra recently stated that there is a sharp rise in demand for outsourced software when compared to statistics from last year, signalling a growth of 49 per cent in the sector.
