Outsourced services 'vital' in recession

Off-site services such as project management software are much more necessary in the recession, according to a technology expert.

Customer experience specialist Amdocs stated that close to 50 per cent of service providers are using outsourcing to host one or more of their applications, with less than one in ten respondents believing that outsourcing techniques are not the future of office technology.

Michael Couture, the head of global marketing at the company, said: "Adopting cost-saving measures like managed services is a good business model in any economy but more so in today's economy when the pressure for immediate cost benefits is even more pronounced".

He added that using project management software through these measures can help businesses become much better adapted to the market they hope to improve sales and beat their opponents in.

Over 17,000 people work for Amdocs, a global company which now serves customers in over 50 countries across the world.
