Outsourcing 'drives IT innovation'

Businesses can take a major step towards innovation through the adoption of outsourced technology such as timesheet and time billing software, an expert has emphasised.

Senior analyst with the Bathwick Group Kate Hanaghan told Computing this week that innovation will not become "business as usual" should the company receiving outsourced software demand a system which is suited to their trade and existing technology.

She explained that outsourcing companies are stepping up their game in terms of innovative techniques and tests carried out by her organisation understood that customer engagement, strategy and market effectiveness have improved massively among most firms.

Ms Hanaghan added that the Bathwick Group held interviews with IT experts from around the UK and found that investment in small business software has not been put to bed, though many are more concerned with the cost of new systems than ever before.

IQ Business Group global director of technology Ewan Macauley told TMCnet this week that the outsourcing industry is growing by the month, with cost-effectiveness driving sales.
