Maximum IT efficiency 'delivered by small business software'
Businesses need to look at the outsourcing of their small business software if they are to reach their maximum potential in the current climate, it is said.
Speaking to Indian national newspaper the Hindu, S Madhavan of technology firm GQuotient said that hardware costs will drop, allowing users of such technology as project management software and time billing to dramatically reduced immediate internal bills such as support staff and electricity.
"While big businesses are leading the way in the use of cloud and SaaS tools, experts argue, the benefits are probably the biggest for small and medium-sized companies which often cannot afford to hire IT staff to build, manage and maintain their systems," Mr Madhavan continued.
He added that such organisations will have their IT governance handled a lot more comfortably, allowing them to focus their funds on more conducive things to avoid the effects of the recession.
Gartner stated earlier this week that software-as-a-service will grow due to the increasing amount of small business popularity, up to a predicted market value of $9.6 billion (£6.3 billion) by the end of 2009.
