Accountancy is 'slowly picking up' business management software
Customer relationship management (CRM) is becoming steadily more popular in the accountancy industry despite a slow start, one expert claimed.
Many accountants are uncomfortable when it comes to trusting business management software as a way of keeping on top of contacts and trends, said Accounting Web's John Stokdyk, though many are becoming more adjusted to the concept of CRM due to its cost-cutting abilities and other functions.
Commenting on the implementation, Simon Crompton of CCH Software explained that email marketing tools are now a top priority in the financial sector, with many being applied to seminars on tax changes and other evolving law issues.
Regarding such seminars, he said that programmes like project management software are also being used as a tool for recording who turned up and who expressed interest in certain discussions.
Mr Crompton continued: "It's a way to track information outside of Excel spreadsheets so they can go back and use the information in subsequent marketing efforts."
HMV has also warmed to the concept of business management software, revealing this week that its CRM solution is now upgraded to improve its sales initiatives.
