Outsourcing 'boosted' by recession

While outsourcing is still naturally popular, a lot of it is being driven by the need to cut costs, making it a very popular industry, it has been stated.

General manager of developer and platform evangelism at Microsoft India Moorthy Uppaluri made his comments to CRN magazine, noting how the industry will be given a large boost by the recession, particularly in places such as his home country.

Mr Uppaluri continued: "The awareness level for the new on-demand computing model is very high in India and we believe the market is set for an exponential growth.

He explained: "The economic uncertainty is compelling many customers to seriously consider SaaS."

Net4India, a partner of Microsoft, also revealed that a trial period saw an "overwhelming response" from potential buyers, highlighting how the demand for time billing and project management software has grown over the last few months.

BroadbandChoices.co.uk recently highlighted the importance of getting the best deal on broadband for business management software customers, revealing that only ten per cent of users in the UK switched to the best deal available to them last year.
