Mobile CRM is 'driving better quality sales'

The increased use of business management software such as customer relationship management (CRM) on mobiles is allowing firms to become very competitive, it has been stated.

Organisations are presented with a higher level of functionality while on the move said John Stokdyk, the technology editor at Sift Media, who explained that the trend started when the BlackBerry and iPhone broke through into the market.

Such smartphones are becoming a more important part of daily business and it is this which is driving mobile business management software, it was added.

"A mobile client for these devices frees you from the desk or a Wi-Fi connection and fits business data into the patterns of your daily life," Mr Stokdyk added.

Many organisations are turning to outsourcing such as CRM and timesheet software in order to cut IT expenditure, according to IDC last month, which explained that many IT departments are being driven by this one criterion in their choice of new technology.
