Flexibility 'standard' with business management software

Outsourced software is a great way to cut costs yet it is the flexibility it can provide users which is also highly desired, a new report has highlighted.

According to SearchCIO.com, long-term contracts which used to be standard in the outsourcing industry are no longer and project management software providers now offer much better options, including subscriptions on a month-by-month basis.

Chief executive officer of oDesk Gary Swart explained that it is easier to sign up to the system and test it out without major ramifications, adding that he does not see there being a risk like there was in the industry beforehand.

Performance-related options for businesses wanting to avoid any further risk are also being steadily offered by a number of providers, which in effect could lessen the impact of the initial investment in such things as time billing even more.

The UK could be lifted out of the recession through a major adoption of outsourced software, according to Phil Flaxton of Technology Means Business, who said that it may be the best way for many organisations to compete in the current climate without having to spend a lot of money.
