SaaS is 'fantastic investment'

There are so many benefits in adopting software-as-a-service (SaaS) in the current climate, according to an expert in the field.

Senior web editor of TMCnet Patrick Barnard said that many issues have recently become more of a burden on companies, such as initial investment in a product, such as upgrades, security programs and any additional fixes.

As a result, a number of companies have seen in-house servers as a pain to maintain, as well as expensive - something which an investment in hosted services such as project management can remove.

Furthermore, new systems are flexible, Mr Barnard added, as it can be tailored on a per-computer basis and be paid for monthly, eliminating any up-front costs and allowing users to access information and programs when outside of the office.

Andy Cocks, an expert in outsourcing speaking to ZDNet Asia last week, recently recommended that a business use a dedicated manager to ensure the implementation of such systems is successful.
