Hosted applications 'needed for online presence in future'

Online hosted business management software is what companies need if they are to be successful in the future, one expert has commented.

The news comes from iomart Group, which stated that cloud computing platforms providing such things as online timesheets can provide a wide array of benefits, especially with the global recession causing so many problems.

"For today's business, the benefits of cloud computing, of a centralised computing infrastructure that can be easily accessed via the internet, are just too compelling to ignore," said Angus MacSween, the chief executive of iomart Group.

Cloud computing is widely regarded as the future of technology for companies looking to cut down on in-house costs while also upgrading to systems previously inaccessible, particularly at small business level.

The platform is also easy to get to grips with said Dean Miles, the general manager of Gooroo Software making his comments to Fresh Business Thinking, explaining that many providers offer accessibility on par with other well-used online services such as Amazon and Google Mail.
