Lack of investment in SaaS 'could prolong downturn'
Small businesses not using software-as-a-service (SaaS) programs such as online timesheets and resource scheduling software could prolong the recession for themselves, it is believed.
Looking into the range of IT-related issues affecting businesses in the current climate, consultancy firm Ardent Solutions found that a number of organisations have budget limitations which are stopping them from investing in the necessary tools for success, Computing revealed.
Managing director of Ardent Andrew Watkinson emphasised that such organisations cannot afford to be left behind.
Mr Watkinson continued: "Making the move to SaaS is the logical next step: in addition to the cost arguments, this model provides organisations with guaranteed access to the latest technologies and up to date expertise."
Research by recruitment company Harvey Nash conducted last week showed there to be a need for IT executives to argue their case for a bigger budget to ensure a better future of technology for their company.
