Outsourcing is great option 'in nearly all circumstances'

The outsourcing of programs such as project management software is nearly always a good strategy for a company to adopt, according to an expert.

Making his comments to CRN, managing director of Getronics Dave Baldwin said many businesses are worried they will be causing problems for themselves and their continuity because of the switch which will take place, though he does not believe this to be the case.

The expert emphasised that it is in the interests of the outsourcer to complement their customer's existing systems in the best way possible, with organisations doing their best to ensure that business management software will be available without a hitch.

"Customers may be nervous about handing a part of their business over to a third party but they can quickly gain tangible efficiencies quickly," Mr Baldwin concluded.

Euan Davis, a leading expert at the Forrester IT Forum in Berlin, recently told Computing magazine that every organisation ought to address inner governance issues before looking to outsourcers to provide added efficiency.
