Unicef adopts business management software

Leading international charity Unicef has adopted business management software in order to manage the needs of its donors more effectively, it has been reported.

Phil Durbin, the UK head of IT at the worldwide children's charity, told Computing that a number of pressures were currently being levelled at the organisation, highlighting how it needs to maximise efficiency now more than ever in order to process and pass on donations as effectively as possible.

He said: "The bottom line is to ensure the architecture is robust, reliable and agile enough to enable Unicef UK to respond to changing business needs on relatively shoestring budgets."

Referring to the commercial and charity industries, Mr Durbin continued: "Both sectors want our IT architecture to help us go that extra mile."

Unicef is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly and is also regularly in the public eye due to its affiliations with FC Barcelona, which does not usually have a sponsor.
