Outsourcing 'must be taken seriously' to succeed

There are a number of reasons why software outsourcing can fail for a business in the UK, it has been explained.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Graham Beck of the PA Consulting Group stated that any organisation adopting business management software from a host must employ "high-quality personnel to manage the relationship", otherwise many issues and problems can be missed.

Furthermore, firms ought to recognise the importance of formal governance relationships, he added, noting that companies must regularly review their relationship with the provider of things like project management software otherwise there may be under or over-investment.

If issues such as these face a "chronic lack of investment", the greater benefits which outsourcing provides will be bypassed and the original plan will not work out as expected, Mr Beck concluded.
