HMV to roll out CRM on national scale
HMV's use of business management software is to expand after it was announced that its customer relationship management (CRM) system is to operate on a nationwide scale.
The high-street entertainment store is looking to form better relationships with the public it serves, with the purehmv system expanding from its current base of 33 HMV stores to incorporate all 260 across the UK.
It is hoped the customer's journey will be more personal, relevant and valuable, creating a more profitable and insightful future for the firm.
Commenting on the business management software implementation, Richard Greenhalgh, who is working with the company, said: "The implementation of a CRM system will enable HMV to maximise the value it derives from purehmv and provides the tools to ensure that its approach to customer loyalty remains current and credible."
He added that investment in customer loyalty generates data, from which plenty of knowledge about sales can be extracted.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the HMV music subscription charts could be incorporated into the UK Top 40, giving a better representation of which artists people are listening to.
