Project management skills 'should be developed'
Britons are being encouraged to enhance their knowledge of project management software during the recession to ensure they are best prepared for when it is over.
People need to be continually learning and developing, explains Dr John McGurk, advisor at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, which means more than just going on training courses.
He urges workers to take on new tasks to challenge themselves and build their skill levels.
"Maybe developing more broad competencies like emotional intelligence or your project management skills or something of that nature," Dr McGurk suggests.
The Confederation of British Industry reveals that the recession has dramatically altered the UK workplace landscape as employers and staff work together to ensure firms and jobs survive.
More flexible working hours, extra holiday and cuts in overtime have become more commonplace as nearly two-thirds of employers change the way they organise their workforce and working patterns, perhaps highlighting the need for timesheet software.
