Cloud-hosted technology 'helps both costs and IT'
Cloud computing looks to be one of the best investments a small firm can make in the current climate, according to an expert.
Chief operating officer of ThinkGrid David Pratt explained that while many organisations are looking to cut their budgets during the recession, there are more benefits of adopting small business management software than just the basics.
He continued: "Small business can get the best of both worlds. [Cloud servers] give an organisation additional agility and they give you enterprise-level IT without having the expense.
"SMEs just haven't got the budget or resources to pour into their IT."
Furthermore, with flexible working being a major priority for many since the government passed legislation to make working hours more pliable, such hosted programs can allow people to access it from home, while online timesheet software can help keep track of such an initiative.
According to a Gooroo survey earlier this year, benefits of cloud computing listed by respondents included improved efficiency, overall reduction in costs, and access to applications from any location.
