Market is 'trustworthy' for SaaS services

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a safe investment for organisations in the current economic climate, despite many worries from potential buyers, it is believed.

Eric Ogren, a virtualisation specialist writing for SearchSecurity.com, explained that a number of organisations are nervous about trusting companies with sensitive information, with many cynical about the online world which they provide.

However, he explained that many firms are willing to overcome the "barriers posed by conservative IT practices", with many already making the jump into cloud computing or other hosted services as a means of improving bottom-line technology.

Mr Ogren added that through the adoption of small business management software and online security products, companies will struggle not to save money and embrace the more effective pay-as-you-go cost structure.

Last week, Peter Linney of IT solutions provider Outsourcery explained that firms are more willing to embrace SaaS because of the range of long-term advantages offered.
