Enterprise software can 'work harder' for better results

Enterprise software via outsourcing may be the one way a business may save themselves - and some money - in the current economic climate.

However, many companies that have already adopted this technology may believe they are not seeing the benefits of it, says the Butler Group, though this may be due to them not working them to their very limits.

It explained that when it comes to new initiatives in the workplace such as that provided by project management software and resource scheduling, the core must be finely tuned for it to work effectively.

Angela Eager, a senior analyst with the Butler Group, said: "Organisations will benefit from a change in perspective in which enterprise applications are perceived as fundamental enablers of change, with the capacity to adapt to new business demands and add further dimensions to new technologies, rather than as static back-office transaction engines."

Butler Group represents the IT end user division of Datamonitor and was founded in 1990 to provide impartial and incisive research to other organisations.
