Value-added content will 'help with customer retention'
The modernisation of a company website with video or flash options may enhance the customer experience of the brand, according to an online marketing specialist.
Chief executive officer at Modera Siim Vips said it is particularly important for businesses in the UK to bring value-added content to their websites as it is a "digital shop-front".
Mr Vips continued: "In challenging economic times and with an extremely competitive online environment, brands need to do more than create (and sustain) awareness."
Highlighting the possible power of small business management software such as customer relationship management in aiding such a transition, he added: "They also need to focus on building loyalty with their online audience - which in turn will drive repeat visits and sales."
The last eCommerce League Table found that Marks and Spencer and John Lewis were the best brands when it came to capitalising on the potential of their websites.
