Business management software is 'getting more popular'

Software-as-a-service will continue to be popular in the coming months and years, with good reason, one commentator from the industry has highlighted.

Keith Fenner, the sales director of Softline Accpac in South Africa, told IT Web that hosted business management software is particularly popular with smaller companies as it is able to create more business flexibility.

He explained: "What businesses are looking for today is efficiency and quick systems implementations that deliver real business benefit. Long, protracted implementations and systems that require more staff and time will not fly in the downturn."

He explained that organisations primarily want better management of information while also delivering improved customer service in real-time and presenting agility in making such decisions on behalf of the consumer - something the likes of resource scheduling and project management can provide.

Last week, Mary Kay Roberto of the E-Commerce Times explained that such applications, when properly implemented, can be immediately seen as beneficial.
