SaaS is 'more trusted source of security'

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is becoming much more popular across the market and as a result, even security services via this method are becoming well-adopted, it has been said.

According to DarkReading, the continuing growth of the SaaS market as a whole - getting bigger due to the widespread adoption of project management software and online timesheets - is powering the increasing trust in security services delivered through an online host.

It was also explained that many people are looking to cheaper alternatives to core services and with security threats growing in number and power on the web, many people are seeing the subscription as hugely important, the news resource continued.

James Palmer, vice-president at Symantec, explained: "A lot of companies were already using a third party for email services, so it was less of a leap of faith to use a third party for email antivirus services. But it started very slowly."

Customer relationship management is also becoming a major investment for many companies using SaaS, with Siim Vips of Modera highlighting how websites are now using it to improve a business' digital facade.
