Remote working 'good for firms and staff'

Remote working has benefits for businesses and their staff, it has been suggested, especially during the recession and talk of swine flu sweeping the country.

The freedom that good use of scheduling software and remote working can give enable more flexible working practices which make employees more responsive to customers, explains Martino Corbelli, marketing director at Star.

"By following best practice guidelines and choosing to work with a reputable solution provider, there are only positive benefits to be had in terms of improved efficiencies, cutting costs, better customer response times and improved employee motivation," he commented.

Any business looking to utilise remote working should ensure they have adequate security in place across all computers and software to be used in the course of the working day, be it in the office or elsewhere.

Figures from the business connectivity provider reveal that the majority of small and medium-sized businesses believe remote working will help them cope with a crisis caused by widespread illness or severe weather conditions.
