Improvements in broadband 'may aid SaaS investment'
Companies wanting to implement small business management software may find it is even more cost-effective, with Ofcom figures pointing towards a vast improvement in broadband costs.
The communications regulator explained that the number of unbundled lines - those where rival providers give services over BT's copper telephone network - has now hit six million, making the market much more competitive and lowering costs for consumers.
Ed Richards, the chief executive of Ofcom, highlighted that this trend could aid those wanting to get the most out of their internet connection, such as through the use of time billing software or resource scheduling software.
He continued: "In just four years unbundling has gone from a flicker on the dial to a major competitive force in telecoms. This has delivered the dual benefits of driving up broadband take-up and driving down prices."
Ofcom was established as a body corporate by the Office of Communications Act 2002.
