IT outsourcing 'continues to grow'
The used of outsourced services such as resource scheduling software will continue to grow, despite investment in other technologies dropping, it has been stated.
Pierre Audoin Consultants and TechMarketView found in a joint study that spending on IT and software in the UK will fall by around by 1.36 per cent during 2009.
Despite this, investment in outsourced services could rise by up to 3.1 per cent during the year, whereas software spending is expected to plummet, falling by 5.5 per cent.
"Large suppliers with mature global delivery networks, intimate client relationships and annuity-based outsourcing businesses continue to fare better," said Nick Mayes, an analyst at PAC London.
However, new government projects may help the industry, commented Anthony Miller, the managing partner at TechMarketView.
He added that outsourcing would still increase regardless of government, though the Conservative Party would likely get more people investing.
As a provider of IT outsourcing, Atlantic Global was recently recognised by Gartner as one which is very much worth the investment for such things as project management and time billing, it was revealed last week.
