Hosted IT services 'allow US govt to make more informed decisions'

Many organisations find it difficult to prioritise tasks when dealing with a number of things at once, though for the US government this is a much bigger task than most.

However, Government Technology revealed that IT staff in Tacoma, Washington have adopted project management software in order to see which things are most important to the smooth running of the area.

Bradd Busick, the manager of change management for the city of Tacoma, said of the investment: "We're making decisions based on facts and data as opposed to emotion and organisational norms."

The team explained that with a thorough analysis aided by the project management software, a digital vote can be taken with staff as to which major obligation needs to be done next, thus creating a democratic and well-informed environment for the office as a whole.

Earlier this month, Robert Hutton, the finance director at Atlantic Global, explained that project management software is more important now than ever before, particularly given that the financial upturn is just around the corner.
