Popularity of SaaS 'continues to rise' with security

The attraction of software-as-a-service (SaaS) as a model to adopt in the workplace is growing, according to a new poll into security solutions.

Infonetics Research found that 82 per cent of respondents to a recent survey said they hope to augment their methods of electronic defence through the monthly service - something which has attracted many to buy into such things as time billing software through the same way.

Jeff Wilson, the principal analyst of network security at the firm, added: "Many companies who move to SaaS (or other forms of managed services) do so because it provides them access to better technology than they could purchase in product form.

"In addition, going with a service model ensures their technology stays updated. This leads to stronger security deployments overall."
