IT outsourcing can "make great returns with right partner"

The wide array of benefits which can be attained from an agreement with a company providing business management software such as time billing software is huge, one report has outlined.

According to Outsourcing Russia, organisations are able to make fixed IT costs variable, have access to resources which would otherwise be unattainable and increase service availability to staff and consumers alike, so long as a company manages risks with outsourcing.

Darin Stahl, the lead analyst for the Info-Tech Research Group, explained that successful agreements with such companies must result in savings of between 15 and 20 per cent, meaning that any contract which cannot deliver a minimum return of ten per cent is not worth investing in.

Still, businesses who operate on a 24/7 basis will still stand to gain a lot from the likes of resource scheduling software, with the expert adding that a five-year plan of savings should be worked on instead of looking for immediate return.

Earlier in the month, a joint study by Pierre Audoin Consultants and TechMarketView found spending on IT and software in the UK will only fall by 1.36 per cent during 2009, highlighting how the recession has not hugely affected the sector.
