SaaS is 'the greener option'

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a great way for a company to reduce its emissions in the modern world, according to a new report.

Speaking to a number of businesses about the effects of the recession, itbusiness.ca concluded with a great number of them that online timesheets, resource scheduling and other business management software can deliver a truly green outlook by reducing the number of in-house services being operated.

Jean-Paul Desmarais, the enterprise marketing manager of the Imaging and Printing Group at HP Canada explained that it has two great effects overall, improving both the image and income of a business.

He said: "It helps to build the company's sustainability efforts. It will save them money at a time where all savings are needed."

Last week, Rupert Hutton, the finance director at Atlantic Global, explained another bonus of project management software, explaining that it is able to see which issues of great importance are being overlooked or postponed.
