SaaS users 'must account for application management'
In a world which now focuses on IT expenditure as a means of cutting costs in the recession, it's hardly surprising that organisations are turning to software-as-a-service (SaaS), it is said.
However, when there is a build up of numerous applications whether they are in-house or out of the building, the issue of bad management can crop up, according to Tony Lock of FreeformDynamics, who made his point of view clear to the Register.
He explained that research by his company found that while less than half of business respondents were running under 50 applications, just under one in ten had over 200 applications to look after, while slightly more did not have any idea how many they had.
The research highlighted how such things as small business management software - including time billing and resource scheduling - could help a company manage their services by moving things from in-house systems, instead allowing them to be managed by a professional team.
Times like these need an investment in SaaS, according to CIO Today this week, with the source explaining that it is able to maintain great bonds with customers.
