SaaS success for non-profit MS fighters

Another company is singing the praises of software-as-a-service (SaaS) after a new system allowed it to work on cures for certain debilitating conditions faced by people across the globe.

Fast Forward, a non-profit organisation set-up by the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society to accelerate the development of treatments for MS, is hoping the small business management software will help streamline the "collection, distribution and tracking" of information supporting funding for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Maya Merrell, the business manager for Fast Forward, explained: "More than two million people around the world live with MS, a chronic and often debilitating disease. A cure has not yet been discovered."

Commenting on the investment in business management software, the business leader continued: "This increases our ability to make funding decisions that will expedite new treatments to the people who need them."

Last month, Guide Dogs revealed that it would be using customer relationship management (CRM) as a means of ensuring money was focused on the charity and not unnecessary IT expenditure - something CRM cuts down on, it believes.
