SaaS is 'compelling investment'
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) products such as resource scheduling have been praised by an expert in technology.
Charles Pittaway, a representative of Netcash writing for Insurance Times and Investments Online, explained that more than simple financial justifications make SaaS a "compelling" investment.
He explained: "Instead of waiting for and installing large upgrades every few months - and then fixing what goes wrong afterwards - customers get small upgrades, all the time.
"Continual updates mean you always have access to the latest technology, as well as fewer bugs to cope with."
Mr Pittaway said that in certain ways, business management software such as project management software and online timesheets is finally offering something which users of other technologies have taken for granted for many years.
He added that with developments in internet connections, computer processors and storage making each of them much cheaper in the last few years, it is becoming a lot easier for organisations to access the benefits of hosted applications.
This week, Robert Proctor, the head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Reality Digital, praised SaaS for its flexibility with users, with the delivery model allowing it to be tailored to any number of users.
