Outsourcing is 'critical' to maintain dynamism
A recent gathering of big names in the computing industry convened for the Technology Senate 2009 in Indi, with IT outsourcing opportunities being discussed, it has been reported.
According to Express Computer, the delegates concluded that a dynamic infrastructure requires applications outsourcing at a "critical" level, highlighting the need for people to consider a subscription-based form of software such as resource scheduling and time billing software.
Rahul Agarwal, a client solutions executive at IBM India, argued that maximising IT investment through this way requires a 30 per cent spend towards new capabilities.
Mr Agarwal said that from a savings point of view, outsourcing could drive ten to 30 per cent savings depending on the mix with existing technology while also cutting down hugely on data centre usage due to its hosted nature.
Earlier this month, Gartner revealed to InternetNews.com that a major change in attitudes towards hosted software meant that there has been a major shift towards outsourced security solutions in recent months.
