SaaS is creating a 'changing landscape'

Businesses who do not address cloud computing as an option when it comes to technology are clearly missing a trick, according to one expert.

Chris Murphy, the editor of InformationWeek, explained in his global chief information officer blog that he and the company's Future of Software panel considered a number of issues with hosted business management software, noting the importance of taking it into account.

Ray Wang, a consultant of the Altimeter Group, said boards are no longer asking what software-as-a-service (SaaS) is and are instead pitching ideas in the cloud - something which must be done.

Furthermore, Christopher Lochhead, an adviser to SuccessFactors, added that such things as project management software can also be implemented more quickly and with less training and upfront capital, making it a great option.

Last week, The Cloud Computing World Forum is scheduled to take place event on October 22nd at 76 Portland Place in London, raising awareness for SaaS in the workplace.
