Corporate data centres are 'outdated'
Cloud computing is the future and those using data centres should seriously reconsider their options, according to an expert in the industry.
Robert Bloor, the founder of Bloor Research, made a speech at a recent event in London regarding the future of hosted software, stating that in-house services are simply outmoded, IT Pro reports.
He said to delegates that the old approach will simply "never compete" with what is truly needed to match customer expectations, such as project management software and resource scheduling software.
Mr Bloor continued: "The fundamental problem with corporate computing is complexity. As soon as you start to add complexity you go into a curve and in IT, it leads you into cost.
"Data centres are suffering from scalability as everything they add is disproportionately costly."
This week, Mark Choueke of Marketing Week underlined the importance of customer relationship management, hosted software which is able to deliver improved dialogue between consumers and companies, thus maintaining a strong and trusting interaction.
