Bloor Research: Cloud computing is 'only way'

If a firm is at a crossroads as to the future of its technology, they should always opt for business management software in the cloud, according to an expert at an event last month.

Robert Bloor, the founder of Bloor Research, told delegates at an event held in London by Netsuite that the future of business programs need to be held in a virtual arena due to a number of benefits that are indispensable when moving forward, IT Pro reported.

He explained: "It's over, it's just over. The corporate data centre will never compete with what is on offer in the cloud.

Noting that scalability issues frequently cost disproportionate amounts to maintain, Mr Bloor continued: "Corporate data centres don't scale up beyond a certain point but cloud data centres do. They take the complexity away."

Bloor Research was founded in 1989 and aims to maintain a consistently high standard of studies for clients on the use of IT in business and society.
