Cameron plans to extend flexible working

The Conservative Party conference this week has seen David Cameron outlining the importance of flexible working, which could lead to the greater provision of small business management software.

According to the shadow prime minister, flexible working is one of the few things he agrees with in terms of Labour Party policy, explaining that the SureStart scheme operated by the current leadership will be extended.

As a result, companies may find it better to take up more time billing software and online timesheets in order to extend their offerings to people who need to work from home.

It adds to a large number of changes which the Tories aim to install should they come to power in next year's general election, including the announcement that all public sector workers earning over £18,000 could be subject to a pay freeze.

This drew criticism from Dave Prentis, the general secretary of the Unison trade union, who said: "The one big idea is to cut public spending, cut benefits and freeze the pay of millions. That does not sit with his claim that the NHS is safe in Tory hands."
