Resisting SaaS adoption is 'futile'

Business experts who turn their heads away at the very mention of software-as-a-service (SaaS) are do not appreciate the benefits programmes such as project management software can offer them, according to an expert.

Nick Goss, a consultant at technology expert the Azzarello Group, spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle and explained that systems including time billing software and customer relationship management offer too many advantages to be ignored.

He said: "A chief information officer trying to stand against this is going to be perceived as showing a remarkable lack of business judgment.

"You might as well work out a way for it to happen that makes it safe so it's not going to come back and bite you."

By agreeing with the idea of SaaS in principle, Mr Goss asserted that such individuals can play a greater role in selecting services appropriate for their company and thus make them easier to manage.
