Google report on SaaS is 'worthy of note'
A number of great points have been raised about software-as-a-service (SaaS) by a recent report by the leading internet search company, according to an entrepreneurial expert.
Andre Yee of Ebiz, who runs a cloud computing blog, explained that Google's 2009 Communications Intelligence Report highlighted how 1,125 people more or less concluded that there is a positive future for cloud applications such as time billing software and resource scheduling software.
The adoption of these applications garnered a range of reactions from these business leaders, including product effectiveness, product features and cost effectiveness, though the most popular was ease of use.
However, saving money is not on the top of the bill for most, though it is seen as a secondary bonus.
Mr Yee continued: "Are there cost savings? Absolutely, but it is not a big parameter in the decision making process."
This week, Nick Goss, a technology expert speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle, explained that chief information officers who deny the effectiveness of hosted services are perceived as "showing a remarkable lack of business judgment".
