Online business is 'constantly evolving'

Companies cannot afford to stand by and stick to their current use of technology if they want to get more out of it, according to an expert.

Roger Llewellyn, the chief executive officer of Kognitio, explained that business is constantly evolving and as a result, it can result in a Catch-22 situation for many people in that they have to analyse the market to respond, though the longer they spend doing this, the further they fall behind.

Highlighting how the likes of project management software and other online systems are becoming more popular, Mr Llewellyn continued: "A lot of the tools that the IT people are using are tools that are ten or 15 years old.

"If you keep doing the same, you will keep getting the same. It was high-risk then and it is high-risk now."

This month, chief operating officer of IT services at ThinkGrid David Pratt said that cloud computing is able to change how a business operates, particularly helping remote workers to achieve goals.
