CRM 'reinvigorated' by cloud
Customer relationship management (CRM) adoption has been reinvigorated by its use in conjunction with the cloud computing form of delivery, it has been stated.
According to AMR Research, a study conducted by the organisation and ChangeWave Research found that CRM is the most commonly deployed business management software application via the cloud, with 69 per cent of users embracing this method.
This is a long way off the second-placed enterprise application delivered through this method, with 40 per cent of companies using cloud computing for ecommerce solutions.
AMR Research believes that by the end of the year, $15 billion (£9.054 billion) will be invested in CRM applications, with a five-year forecast predicting annual rises of four per cent to $18.85 billion (£11.38 billion).
Yesterday, CRM expert Michael Krigsman told ZDNet that many businesses are focusing too much on social CRM and ought to instead look at their customer data quality.
