Job candidates 'take employers resource planning into consideration'

Resource planning techniques increasingly factor into parents' decisions about new jobs, it has been suggested.

Britain is already ahead of the curve in terms of modern working practices, such as the use of resource planning software and online project management.

Fathers have even begun basing their employment decisions on the practices in place at a prospective employer, according to the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Acting group director of strategy for the commission Andrea Murray said: "This highlights an opportunity for British businesses to use flexible working as an incentive for attracting and retaining the most talented of employees.

"Some companies which have adopted forward thinking policies towards families are reporting increased productivity, reduction in staff turnover, reduced training costs and an ability to respond better to customer requirements."

Earlier this month, the chief executive of Method123 Jason Westland underlined the usefulness of timesheets for improving online project management, such as when some employees are working remotely.
