SaaS with in-house solutions is 'way to success'

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is being adopted by a number of businesses, including an increasing number of higher performers, according to a new survey.

The research, carried out by Opinion Research Corporation after being commissioned by corporate accounting software firm CCH, discovered that of the high performers questioned, 30 per cent were already using the likes of project management software and online time billing.

However, a further 55 per cent of the demographic also claimed to be investing in the delivery method in the coming months as a means of improving their abilities.

Mike Sabbatis, the president of CCH, added: "Many firms are recognising that a combination of on-premise and SaaS solutions, based on their particular business requirements will offer the greatest results and return on investment."

According to a recent poll carried out by Avanade, after interviewing over 500 companies in 17 countries it was discovered that cloud computing has shot up in popularity by 320 per cent in the first nine months of 2009.
